The suspect, who is charged with first-degree murder in the deadly rampage, told authorities that he’d considered bringing improvised explosive devices to the city’s Fourth of July parade but decided they were too heavy.
He had also turned away from a synagogue in April because of a “serious threat” that came to his family’s attention, said Christopher Covelli, a police spokesman for Lake County Major Crimes Task Force.
